Vote Sandra Vincent, District 2, City of McDonough

Meet Sandra Vincent

Sandra Vincent has lived in the City of McDonough for 20+ years.  She is the proud mother of four daughters, all of whom attended Henry County Schools.  She is passionate about service, and shows this passion in all that she does.

In 2005, Sandra was elected to the McDonough City Council, a seven-member governing body.  As the District II City Council Representative, the Honorable Sandra Vincent has worked tirelessly on behalf of all citizens and is known for her innovative and collaborative efforts.

One of her most noted accomplishments in Henry County was the successful co-authorship of a 6.2 million dollar Neighborhood Stabilization grant. As one of the hardest hit counties in the nation during the housing crash, this grant was instrumental in countering the destabilizing forces of foreclosure throughout the County and its municipalities.

Sandra Vincent has faithfully served families in Georgia for most of her professional career. As an employee of Fulton County Government, she has specialized in Housing/Community/Economic Development and worked in Public Health and Human Services.  Additionally, she has served as a legislative liaison and now serves as a Project Officer for the 20-County Metropolitan Atlanta Health Services Planning Council.

Sandra is no stranger to hard work, she personally worked to restore homes for seniors with code violations in McDonough’s Blacksville Community.  Working with several non-profit organizations and community volunteers the group collaborated with public sponsors, private businesses, and government officials to restore numerous senior homes.

The success of this program became a model for the Regional Foreclosure Response Initiative – Piece By Piece, where Sandra served as a representative for the City of McDonough.

For Sandra, public service is ministry.  Maintaining a philosophy of leadership by example Sandra has served as one of the founding members of the BHYF, Inc., a non-profit mentor program for young people, a member of the Henry County Boys & Girls Club Steering Committee, champion for the Henry County Fuller Center for Housing and an avid supporter of the arts.  She is also active with the Georgia Municipal Association and sits on both, the Community Development Policy Committee, the Revenue and Finance Policy Committee, and is the Vice-President of 3rd District Metro South for the State of Georgia.

Sandra attended Tuskegee University as a Political Science major and is also a 2002 Charter Class graduate of the Agape International Ministries Bible Training Institute.  In addition to her role as Councilmember, she has also served for ten years as Chair of the Downtown Development Authority of the City of McDonough, where she worked diligently to ensure the historical integrity and vitality of downtown McDonough.  Sandra is a member of Tabernacle of Praise Church International, and the mother of four wonderful daughters.

In her spare time, Sandra is a highly sought after public speaker, grant writer, scriptwriter, and volunteer consultant for several faith-based and non-profit organizations.
